Setting up your Altar space
Remember to set up your altar space! It may seem like a something of little importance but it makes a huge difference if you are able to practice in the same place, in front of objects that your heart feels are sacred, every day. The altar is a living being that is conspiring with you to elevate your energy and connect to devotion and light.
Since I travel a lot, I always bring a small piece of fabric, a few sacred items and pictures with me so I can set up mini altar. It’s comforting and helps me to drop into my practices more quickly. If you can get into this habit, it will become a great ally!
Set up your altar so you are facing EAST (the house of the rising Sun, the place of light) {if it’s not possible to do this then find the next best solution. I invite you to get quiet, tune in and see where your altar is asking to be placed)
Set up the altar in a low traffic area and allow it to become a sacred space of devotion, a place for your evolution and expansion. If you can keep it a place special only to you it will be easier to keep your energy flowing smoothly.
Practice in front of your altar every day. It will make a big difference! You are charging this sacred space with your energy and intentions and the energy will start to build and will create a powerful vortex and portal of its own.
Write your intentions down on a sheet of paper and place them on your altar.
Place a vessel of WATER on the altar and bless it with your intentions. The water will become charged with your practice and energy. Empty the water on the Earth with a simple prayer when you feel it's time to change it out.
A candle is also helpful... light it each time you sit to practice. Palo santo and/or sage are great to have on hand for clearing the space regularly (especially if you have a release during your practice)
You can place any other sacred objects that you feel connected to : crystals, stones, feathers, pictures, statues, art, instruments. Whatever brings you peace and joy.
If you have water on your altar, make sure to change it out and offer it back to the Earth often.
Change flowers as they start to wilt and offer them back to the Earth (dried flowers are ok!)
